We are the SLD provision at Canolfan Yr Enfys, Ysgol Bro Banw.

We have a small nurturing class, which aims to support and develop our learners to shine brightly.

We provide a range of engaging activities that help support each child’s individual needs.

We help to promote children’s learning by:

• Circle Time
• TEACCH approach
• Talk for Writing
• Debono’s Thinking Hats
• Sign along
• The use of visuals/widget symbols
• Class assemblies
• Phonological Awareness, which develops pre language skills
• RWI, which develops reading & writing.
• Integration sessions to develop social skills
• Food and fitness that supports health and wellbeing
• Lego therapy
• Numicon
• A range of apps using ipads/chromebooks

Outside agencies

We work with a range of outside agencies to help support our learners individual needs. We work with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists to meet the needs of individual children.

Curriculum

The theme for this Spring term is “I can Shine”. We will be reading the story "Super Duper You" by Sophy Henn to help support our learning. 

We aim to support the children in developing healthy minds and bodies to help us shine.

We celebrate much of our work through Class Dojo, where a range of fun, engaging activities and experiences are shared.

We develop Language, Literacy & Communication, Maths & Numeracy skills daily.
